International Experience – For the Quality of Vocational Education

In the place where professionals of the global fashion industry develop their skills and international standards are shaped, LEPL College “Mermisi” places special emphasis on the professional development of its teachers and acquiring modern knowledge.

For this purpose, as part of an international professional development programme, Iamze Nozadze, a vocational education teacher of the Fashion Technology and Design programme selected by College “Mermisi”, completed an intensive one-month professional training course in Italy, in Milan – the world capital of fashion – at Istituto di Moda Burgo, one of the leading international educational institutions in the fashion field, whose teaching methods and practical approaches are widely recognized in the fashion industry.

The training programme covered fashion illustration, human figure proportions, creation of capsule collections, pattern construction according to the Burgo method, modern sewing technologies, and the development of women’s garment prototypes. During the course, Iamze Nozadze also attended a professional masterclass conducted by Biagio, a leading designer and tailor of Dolce & Gabbana.

The acquired knowledge and international experience will contribute to introducing modern approaches into the educational process and offering students even higher-quality vocational education.

LEPL College “Mermisi” will continue to support the professional development of its staff in the future, as improving the quality of vocational education is based on continuous development and the implementation of new experiences.

The visit was carried out with the support of the Department of Vocational Education of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia and LEPL College “Mermisi”, within the framework of the “Vocational Skills Development Programmes”.
