Within the framework of an international study visit to Finland, the Inclusive Education
Coordinator of LEPL College Mermisi participated in a series of professional meetings and
workshops aimed at gaining in-depth knowledge of the Finnish vocational education
model.During the visit, participants explored the structure and governance of the Finnish
vocational education system, as well as the models used for the training and continuous
professional development of vocational teachers.
Particular attention was given to work-based learning practices, effective cooperation
mechanisms with employers, and tools that support students’ transition to employment. This
study visit represents an important step toward the development of inclusive vocational
education in Georgia.
The knowledge and experience gained during the visit will contribute to analysing and adapting
elements of the Finnish model and to sharing inclusive practices that support the further
development of both College Mermisi and the broader vocational education system.
